As a Reliability Engineer in the Chemical industry I experienced that the implementation of expansion or revamp projects into an existing maintenance organisation is often not fully completed. My goal is to be the intermediate between projects and maintenance to ensure all gaps like spare parts, maintenance plans and documentation are closed and updated.
The main tool of the Reliability Engineer is data. Machine Learning algorithms are key in implementing preventative maintenance plans. Using software like Python and R for me are an easy and flexible way to start with ML in any maintenance department and give preventative maintenance a boost.
